REMOTE INJURY MANAGEMENT
WE PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL REMOTE SERVICES TO HELP DIAGNOSE AND TREAT MOST INJURIES
VIRTUAL PHYSIOTHERAPY AND SPORTS INJURY APPOINTMENTS
Assessment and treatment for some injuries can be done over video call or on the telephone. This can be done using Zoom or Skype, both free to access and easy to download.
VIRTUAL INITIAL ASSESSMENT
The assessment will be completed as normal, where we take the history of your injury, what impacts it is having, what your goals are etc. You will be asked to perform some movements and special tests by the therapist in order to gain a good overall knowledge of what the problem may be
VIRTUAL TREATMENT
A treatment plan will be discussed and devised, this could include receiving exercises via online media, email, or posted to you should you not have access to a computer (telephone assessment). The only difference is, there would be no manual therapy.
Why virtual/remote assessment and treatment?
If you have an acute injury that is causing you some discomfort, preventing you from completing your daily exercise routine, impacting your work, and would not be classed as an urgent medical need, then this would be perfect for you. Appointments can be completed in the comfort and safety of your own home, whilst alleviating the discomfort and stress your injury may be causing you
WHAT WILL I NEED TO DO BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT
If it’s a new injury and requires an assessment then we would call you prior to your appointment time (or if convenient, during the initial contact) to take down some details before your consultation. These details would include basic demographics, health questions, and basic injury details. Payment would need to be made before your appointment and can be done over the phone or by bank transfer, whichever is more convenient. Appointment can be paid for by bank transfer or over the telephone, whichever is more convenient.
WHAT WILL I NEED TO DO DURING THE APPOINTMENT
If your injury involves the upper body, a vest should be worn, or a sports bra for ladies, and for lower limb, some shorts or similar. You will be asked by your therapist to perform certain movements and describe what you are feeling whilst doing them. You may need to move around so please ensure you have space to do so. Please also ensure the therapist will be able to fully see you, so the positioning of your phone, laptop or tablet can be placed to allow for this, maybe have a bit of a practice beforehand with the camera facing you.

If you are at all unsure then we are happy to discuss your concerns over the phone or by email, where a decision can be made as to whether physiotherapy is appropriate or not. We still offer face to face appointments should your injury be of an urgent nature and deemed to be necessary
